Is there a way to download epub or pdf from honto.jp books library? I bought some eBooks from honto.jp ebook store, but I can't use the android app in America, and I even don't want to use the desktop app often as I want to read honto japan eBooks with the Mac books app. If so, I do no need to switch the reading app between honto and books app.
In fact, books we purchased from honto japan ebook library are usually encrypted with drm limitation. Download and install the honto app for windows 10/11 version. The latest version is v6.65.0.

You will be asked to log in when the first application launched. Input your honto account information and click on the green button.
Click on the sync icon and visit the "All" tab to access your honto library. Then, double click-on the book cover to start downloading the book files.
Wait for the downloading completes. You can find and locate them under the "Downloaded" tab.
Where are my honto eBooks stored on PC
To find the honto eBooks location, you can click on "Help" from the top menu bar and then select "Version" -- "Show Log Folder".
You will be guided to a folder named "honto". Now click on "Content" folder and then continue to click the "@^........." folder. All of your downloaded honto eBooks are saved there.
Step3. Convert honto japan eBooks to EPUB PDF
Launch the Epubor Honto Converter. It automatically recognizes the honto eBooks and therefore speeds everything up. Conversion is also very fast.
Click on the "Output foler", then you can find your honto eBooks are turned into ePub or PDF/JPG format.
The downloaded EPUBX folder contents will be converted to EPUB format, and the DIVF4 folder contents will be transformed into PDF and JPG format.

The Epubor Honto Converter doesn't help convert honto .book eBooks to ePub or PDF, and it doesn't work on Mac computer.
What should I do if I want to convert Honto eBooks on Mac?
It's a pity that this tool hasn't provided a Mac version since the honto uses a harder DRM technology for books downloaded via honto mac app. I highly recommend you install the Windows version, if you also have a Windows laptop. Calibre is a powerful eBooks conversion tool and an eBook mangament tool, but it doesn't support the Honto eBooks store titles.
