eBooks.com has switched the DRM protection on their ebooks from Adobe Adept to LCP DRM. You can follow the guide below to remove LCP DRM from your purchased ebooks.
1. How to Download ebooks from ebooks.com to a PC or Mac
Step 1Access Your Bookshelf on eBooks.com
Log in to your account at ebooks.com > go to My Bookshelf > Locate the book you want and tap the cover to open the reading options.
Step 2Download the eBook to Your Computer
On the book page, select Download to Windows or Mac, then click Download ePub, then you'll get a DRM protected EPUB file.
Note: LCP-protected files often come as a .epub that contains a license.lcpl file. To view it: Rename the downloaded .epub file extension to .zip. Extract the ZIP file. The license.lcpl file is usually located in the META-INF folder.
2. How to Decrypt eBooks Downloaded from eBooks.com
Epubor BookWalker Mate is the most efficient tool for removing LCP DRM from supported files.
Step 1Download and Install Epubor BookWalker Mate.
Step 2Remove LCP DRM.
Open Epubor BookWalker Mate, drag and drop all the license.lcpl files into the conversion area.
Then click the key icon (upper right corner) to open the passphrase settings and paste your lcp passphrase and click "OK" to save it.
Next, click the "Start Conversion" button. The software will strip the LCP DRM and download the file as a standard EPUB.
Step 3Access Your DRM-Free Files
Click the "Open" button at the top of the application to access your library. Your files are now stored as DRM-free EPUBs, ready to be read on any compatible device.
