Amazon makes it easy to listen to millions of songs online, but downloading Amazon music for offline listening is a different story. Whether you’ve purchased music, subscribed to Amazon Music Unlimited, or are simply using the Prime Music benefit, there are several ways to download Amazon music to your computer. In this guide, we’ll walk through each option — and also show you how to download Amazon Music as MP3 files so you can actually keep.
1. How to Download Purchased Amazon Music to PC as MP3
If you’ve bought songs or albums from Amazon, you should technically own them outright. You can download purchased Amazon music directly as MP3 files to your PC.
Step 1 Go to Amazon Music in your browser. Navigate to Library >> Purchased.
Step 2 Click the three dots and then choose "Download" from the drop-down menu.

Step 3 Amazon music are downloaded as MP3 and can be played in any media player.

Note: Amazon only lets you download one song at a time through the browser. One song at a time? Are you kidding me? If you purchased a full album, this process quickly becomes tedious.
2. How to Download Amazon Unlimited/Prime Music to PC
2.1 How to download Amazon Unlimited Music to PC
If you’re paying for Amazon Music Unlimited, you get access to millions of tracks — but downloading them to your PC is not as straightforward as you might expect.
With the Amazon Music desktop app (Windows/Mac), you can “download” albums, playlists, or tracks for offline listening.
Step 1 Install and open the Amazon Music app. Sign in with your Amazon account.
Step 2 Find the album, playlist, or track you want. Click the three dots besides it, then choose the "Download" from te dropdown option.

A few seconds, there will be a check beside it.

Your songs are now available for offline listening… but only inside the Amazon Music app.
2.2 How to Download Amazon Prime Music to PC
If you’re a Prime member, you don’t get the full Unlimited catalog, but you do get access to a limited library and special All-Access Playlists.
You can download these playlists to your PC using the Amazon Music app the same way as Unlimited content.
However, there are a few points I’d like to share with you:
- Downloads are still locked inside the app.
- You cannot export them as MP3.
- Once your Prime subscription ends, you lose access to those downloads.
Where Are Amazon Music Downloads Stored on PC?
By default, files are stored in a hidden location like:
C:\Users\[YourName]\AppData\Local\Amazon Music\Data\Offline
Here’s the frustrating part: even though your computer stores the files locally, you can’t just copy them into another player.
These files are DRM-protected, meaning you cannot simply open them with Windows Media Player, VLC, or transfer them to an MP3 player.
In other words: you think you’ve downloaded music, but it doesn’t actually appear as usable files on your PC.
So while it looks like you’re downloading, you’re really just caching temporary files for the app. Is there any way to keep my Amazon music forever? Keep reading!
