Why do you bother to post guides (both this one from Jan 2026 and the android emulator setup guide from 2025) that users have been reporting are outdated and not working since JUNE 2025?? What is the point?
I have submitted a ticket with more details of my situation in hopes of a personalized solution, but seriously, there is no point at all in posting guides if you don't keep them up to date. Android emulators on Mac especially break almost every time there is an update. If you're not willing to have staff who will monitor the situation and stay on top of updates, don't sell 5-year licenses for software that is completely reliant on an Android emulator to work.
An update on my situation: the conversation with support was not very helpful since they did not appear to be reading anything I wrote, but I did figure out a workaround on my own and will post it as a suggestion on the Android Studio Mac guide.
The only remaining comment I have is on this specific thread. I cannot understand why it is that your guide shows the recognition of fully downloaded issues to be immediate, but on my mac, issues that have been fully downloaded in the emulator (they have the green arrow) take several hours to be fully recognized by my Epubor Zinio Unlimited software. Clicking refresh doesn't help until a certain amount of time has passed, so I can only conclude that there is a recognition process going on in the background that is not being revealed in the software interface. I wouldn't mind the wait if I knew what was going on (a progress bar, or SOMETHING).
To be clear, this is not the time required to download an issue in the emulator, or the time required to convert an issue once I drag it from the left pane to the right and click convert. I have fast internet and a faster computer, so those things happen very quickly. It is purely a delay in Epubor's software being able to see the downloaded issues at all. It makes no sense to me that it takes three hours for Epubor's software to finish talking to the emulator.
I have managed to successfully download a few issues, but I can't say that I am enjoying the experience so far. Epubor's Magzter app works far better.
