Step 1Get and Install UTM
UTM is a free and open-source virtual machine (VM) app for macOS. It’s one of the best free solutions for Intel Mac users who want to run Windows 11.
Double-click the downloaded UTM.dmg file, drag the UTM icon into your Applications folder, then launch the UTM. If macOS prompts you with a security warning, click Open to proceed.
Step 2Download the Windows 11 ISO Image
The Windows 11 ISO file contains the complete installation media. You can download it directly from Microsoft in 5 easy steps:
1. Go to Microsoft’s Windows 11 Download Page.
2. Scroll to Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO for x64 devices).
3. Choose Windows 11 (multi-edition ISO for x64 devices) and click Confirm.
4. Pick your preferred language and click Confirm.
5. Click the 64-bit Download button to save the file.
Step 3Create a Virtual Machine
Open UTM and click + > Virtualize > Windows. Under Boot Image, click Browse to select your Windows 11 ISO file. Ensure Install drivers and SPICE tools is checked, click Continue through the setup prompts, and hit Save to complete your VM creation. Step 4Install Windows 11 on VM
Click the big Play button on your newly created VM. The virtual machine will boot into the Windows 11 setup wizard. Follow the on-screen prompts to install Windows 11.

Step 5Install Kindle App from the Microsoft Store on VM
Once Windows 11 is running, open the Microsoft Store inside the virtual machine to download and install the Kindle app.
Launch Kindle app, log in with your Amazon account, and click any book cover to start downloading.
Step 6Install vc_redist.x86.exe
vc_redist.x86.exe is required because many applications rely on Microsoft Visual C++ runtime libraries (DLLs) to run shared code. Download the installer below and follow the on-screen prompts to set it up inside your Windows VM.

Step 7Install Epubor Ultimate inside Windows 11 VM
Open the Edge browser, visit the Epubor Ultimate product page: https://www.epubor.com/ultimate.html, then download and install the app in Windows VM.
Step 8Remove Kindle DRM
Launch Epubor Ultimate. All downloaded Kindle books will automatically appear under the Kindle tab in the left sidebar. Drag and drop the files into the right panel to remove Kindle DRM immediately. Then, you can convert them to your preferred format (such as PDF).
Once the DRM is removed successfully, you can quickly access your decrypted or converted Kindle eBooks by clicking the folder icon in the lower-right corner of the program.

3. Drop your DRM-free Kindle files into the network drive, they’ll immediately appear in your Mac's shared folder.
