Android Studio is well-suited for Mac users, supporting both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. Follow the guide below to set it up on your Mac.
Step 1Download JetBrains Toolbox App.
Using JetBrains Toolbox to install Android Studio is the best option, as it ensures easy updates and efficient version management.

Step 2Install JetBrains Toolbox App and Launch it.
Once the download is complete, open the .dmg file from your Downloads folder, you'll see the JetBrains Toolbox icon; drag this icon into your Applications folder.
Navigate to your Applications folder and double-click on JetBrains Toolbox to launch it. On the first run, macOS might ask for permission to open the app since it's from an unidentified developer; click "Open" to proceed.
Step 3Install Android Studio within JetBrains Toolbox App.
Click the JetBrains Toolbox icon in the Dock to launch it, then search for Android Studio and click Install.
Then Check the box next to the agreement statement and click Install Android Studio.

Step 4Create a New Virtual Device
1. Click the Android Studio icon in the Dock to launch it. On the Welcome Screen, click on "More actions" > click on "Create Virtual Device".
then click on "Create virtual device..."
2. Select a Hardware profile: Select "Phone" and then choose "Pixel 6 Pro". Click the "Next" button to proceed.
Important: We recommend selecting the same hardware profile mentioned above to prevent DRM removal failure.
3. Select Android 14.0 from the API menu and click the Download icon to install the SDK component.
4. After the SDK component is installed, click Finish on the SDK Component Installer window.
5. Then click Finish again on the Configure Virtual Device window.
6. Click the triangle icon to launch the emulator.
Step 3Install APKPure for App Management
APKPure is a third-party app store that allows you to install any app on Android devices.
Download APKPure APK for Android device here: apkpure_3.20.5102.apk
Save the APKPure APK to your desktop, then drag and drop it onto the emulator interface to initiate the installation.
After installing the APKPure APK, swipe up on the screen to locate the app icon. Tap it to start downloading any Android apps.

You got to be outta your minds! A year or two ago we didn't need to go through this extremeky complex an time-consuming process just to get Epubor working on a Mac.
I will not sully my Mac with anything remotely related to Android or Google.
I am very disappointed that after purchasing the license, you informed that it does not work with Intel.
Now, I am trying to set up with the instructions above.

Downloading audiobook failure on Pixel 6 Pro.
Pixel 6 Pro Emulator running on MacMini per instructions.
Open Libby App to login to local library and find Loans on my Library Shelf
When I select and try to download a long audiobook (28 hours), download fails after 1 minute with message:
"Downloading failed for some reason. Check free space and internet connectivity, and try again"
I remove the partial download and have tried agin several times with same result. Internet connectivity is good.
Is it looking for free space on the the Pixel 6 Pro Emulator or on my computer (plenty of space)?
What am I missing? Help?
I had everything setup, but when i opened it today, the device would not launch because of an sdk error. So, I deleted the device, and tried to redo it; however, the "UpsideDownCake" no longer has the system image available. If I change the services from Google APIs to Android Open Source "Intel x86_64 Atom System Image" appears.
Is that going to work, or is there another work around here?

I am trying to post a list of the settings that actually worked for me and some other tips, but I keep getting a "sorry you posted some spam words" error message. Which does not tell me what those words are. Epubor, why are you like this.
The extra short version: if you are on a Mac and are having trouble with setting up Android Studio using Android 14, it's probably because that version is three versions out of date and the recommended Google API will not run on a Silicon mac. Try switching to Android 17 and choose whatever Google API is recommended, it will work better. Not great, but better.

I understand this failure is due to Amazon and the publishing houses

ONLY on Apple Silicon IS an Epubor decision, NOT Amazon.
Please fix or refund
I must now obtain a reader that is more friendly to my needs and does not require Epubor to assure my rights
