Epubor Kobo Mate allows you to download purchased Kobo eBooks, Kobo Plus eBooks, and Kobo audiobooks as regular EPUB and MP3 files.
Note: Please choose the right version for you to install Epubor Kobo Mate. This guide demonstrates how to install and use Epubor Kobo Mate on Windows. But it is available on both Windows and MacOS.
Part 1: Download & Install
Download the right and latest version. Then double-click the file you downloaded ( .exe file for Windows users, .zip file for Mac users) to start the installation. We use Windows as an example in this tutorial, but as long as you install the right version, this software can work well with the same instructions regardless of the operating system.
Part 2: Free Trial & Register & Deregister & Uninstall
1. Free Trial
Launch Epubor Kobo Mate, the registration window will automatically pop up to let you input your license email and license code to register this software. If you want to continue using the trial version, just close the registration window.
Please note: The trial version can only allow you to download and convert up to 3 titles (including eBooks and audiobooks) for free.
If you want to unlock the full premium features, please purchase the software.

2. Register
After you place an order for Epubor Kobo Mate, you will receive an order confirmation email with a license key within 24-48 hours. Then just run Kobo Mate and click the key icon on the upper right to enter the license email and license code for registration.
3. Deregister
If you need to deregister Epubor Kobo Mate, please click the gear icon in the right corner, then click "Help"—"License", and click the "Deregister" button.
4. Uninstall
You can search for this software under Apps & Features and right-click to uninstall it.
Part 3: Epubor Kobo Mate Tutorial( Step-by-Step)
Run Epubor Kobo Mate program, and then click the "Login" button to sign in with your Kobo account. You need to open https://www.kobo.com/activate via a browser, and enter the activation code shown below.
Next, enter the activation code and click the "Continue" button.
Then, you can enter your email address and password to sign in with your Kobo account.
Note:
(1) You can also sign in Kobo account with Google or Facebook.
(2) Some bookstores that Kobo partners with let you log in to Kobo.com with your email and password from their bookstore's site. To sign in with a Kobo partner account (e.g., Bol.com, FNAC, and other booksellers, click the "More Sign-In Options" button and select the correct bookseller.
After you are logged in and wait for a while, the books in your Kobo library will be detected automatically and appear in Epubor Kobo Mate. If some books are not synchronized, just click the "Refresh" button to load them.
Next, select the eBooks or audiobooks you would like to convert and add them to the right area. Click the Start Conversion button at the bottom to start the conversion process. After the books have been converted successfully, the green check icon will appear next to the title.
To find the converted ebooks and audiobooks, simply click the "Open" button to open the output folder containing the DRM-free Kobo ebooks and audiobooks. or click the "green check" icon to locate the specific converted book file.

A: Unstable, weak, or interrupted internet connections are the primary causes of download failures.
Solution: If you failed to convert some books, just remove all books from the right window, and then drag and drop the problematic books to the right area and convert them again.
Q: How to upload newly purchased Kobo books in the Epubor Kobo Mate?
A: Simply click the "Refresh" button to reload the books from your Kobo library.
Q: How can I switch to another Kobo account?
A: You need to log out of your current Kobo account from Epubor Kobo Mate. And then sign in with your other account by following the same steps.
Q: What can I do if I log in fails?
A: In this situation, please clear your browser's cache and cookies to try again. Or you can also use another browser to open the login link and enter the activation code.
